Navigating The Claims Process With Precision And Speed.

Best For Property Owners Facing Storm, Fire, or Water Damage

Dealing with property damage is stressful enough; fighting with an insurance carrier over the cost of repairs shouldn’t add to that burden. Fortivus Construction utilizes “Insurance Preferred Workflows,” meaning we use the same industry-standard software (Xactimate) and documentation protocols that major insurance carriers use.

We are the ideal partner for homeowners and business owners who want their claim settled quickly, fairly, and accurately. We speak the adjuster’s language, ensuring that no necessary repair is overlooked and that your coverage is maximized according to your policy.

Problems We Solve

The gap between what an insurance adjuster sees and what a contractor knows is needed can be wide. We bridge that gap with data, photos, and standard pricing. This ensures that the final settlement reflects the true cost of quality restoration, protecting you from unexpected out-of-pocket expenses.

Common Questions

Answers regarding deductibles, supplements, and working with your carrier.

Yes. It is illegal for a contractor to "waive" or "absorb" your deductible. You are responsible for paying the deductible amount listed in your policy to Fortivus Construction.

Yes. We work with all major carriers (State Farm, Allstate, Liberty Mutual, USAA, etc.) as well as smaller regional insurers. We use the Universal industry software they all accept.

Often, hidden damage is discovered after demolition begins (e.g., rot behind siding). A supplement is a request we file with your insurance carrier to add these necessary repairs to the claim so you don't have to pay for them out of pocket.

If you have a mortgage, the bank has a vested interest in the property. You will need to contact your mortgage company to get them to endorse the check so you can pay for the repairs. We can assist you with this process.

Absolutely. If you want to upgrade (e.g., from laminate to hardwood), you simply pay the difference between the insurance allowance and the upgrade cost.

It varies by carrier, but utilizing our preferred workflows typically speeds up the process. Simple claims can be approved in days; complex structural claims may take a few weeks to finalize scope.

This is very common. Insurance adjusters often use general pricing lists that miss specific local costs or code requirements. We simply submit our data-driven estimate (Xactimate) to the carrier to justify the difference and get the additional funds approved.

Most policies pay in two steps. First, you get the "Actual Cash Value" (ACV), which subtracts age/wear. Once the work is completed and we submit a certificate of satisfaction, the insurance company releases the "Recoverable Depreciation" check to cover the full cost.

Yes. It is highly recommended that we attend the initial adjuster meeting. We walk the property with them to point out all damages immediately, ensuring they are documented in the first report rather than having to fight for them later.

Don't panic. A denial isn't always final. We can review your denial letter and the condition of your property. If there is legitimate damage that was overlooked, we can help you request a "re-inspection" with a different adjuster.
